PRACTICE AREAS

T. Stevens Bliss has been practicing in Danbury and Litchfield County for nearly 30 years, gaining experience and expertise in:

RESIDENTIAL REAL ESTATE - Having represented both buyers and sellers for many years, Mr. Bliss is familiar with the process of buying or selling a house, and has established good working relationships with the local real estate agencies, local lending institutions, and Town officials.

COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE - Mr. Bliss has represented both developers and Banks in the acquisition and development of commercial property. Mr. Bliss is also familiar with land use, and the requirements of local land use authorities.

CRIMINAL AND MOTOR VEHICLE DEFENSE - Mr. Bliss is a former Public Defender, who has represented criminal and motor vehicle defendants in most courts in the State of Connecticut. He has tried many major felony cases to a jury, as well as successfully resolving serious motor vehicle charges. He has also taken appeals to the Connecticut Appellate Court and the Connecticut Supreme Court.

CIVIL LITIGATION - Mr. Bliss represents clients in a wide range of civil matters, including collection of a debt, landlord-tenant, property disputes, etc.

PERSONAL INJURY - Mr. Bliss represents those who have been injured, either in a motor vehicle accident, or a fall down. He has also represented clients in medical malpractice, wrongful death, and product liability, successfully trying cases to a jury in Fairfield and Litchfield Counties. He accepts cases on a contingent fee basis, which means that the client owes a legal fee only if there is a recovery of money for the client.

WORKERS COMPENSATION - Mr. Bliss has extensive experience in the resolution of workers compensation claims, and has successfully settled many complex claims for the worker. As with Personal Injury, the client owes a legal fee only if there is a recovery for the client.

MEDIATION AND ARBITRATION - Mr. Bliss has received extensive training and has experience in the resolution of disputes through mediation and arbitration. Mr. Bliss is always willing to explore alternatives to litigation to provide his clients with a satisfactory and cost-effective solution to a conflict.
